This Friday Villa play under the Sky Sports cameras at Elland road as they take on Leeds United. It’ll be a tricky game against a Leeds side who went undefeated against us last year.
To get the lowdown on the Whites, I’ve enlisted the help of Leeds fan and insurance consultant Tony Harrison (@Rumoydin).
What were your expectations for Leeds going into the season?
Our board set a target of top six as we just finished outside the play offs last season. Personally, I thought top eight would be a good achievement as we’ve gone through a lot of change in the summer. We had a new owner, a new board, a new manager and about 16 new players coming in to the club. If we finish top six, I’ll be very happy.
How would you rate your season so far out of 10 and why?
I would say an 8. We started off on a flyer and were top of the league in September. But as we do, we got a bit carried away. The wheels fell off and we lost seven in nine. We’ve just managed to turn it round with two wins in our last three games.
Which Leeds players should Villa be wary of?
Samuel Saiz. We signed him in the summer for 3 million from Huesca in the Spanish Second Division and he looks an absolute bargain. Already a fans favourite at the club.
If you were Thomas Christiansen and had to sign one Aston Villa player for the Whites, who would it be?
Adomah. He looks like a new player this season with 10 goals to his name.
Where do you see Villa finishing this season and why?
I think they’ll finish in the top six. Big club, very strong team and a decent manager in Bruce. Shouldn’t be finishing any less.
Score prediction for Friday?
I’m expecting a tough game. I’ll go 1-1.
