We have found the time over the festive period to get the view of a Brentford Luke Furber (@beeLJF). We asked Luke, a 30 year old teacher from Berkshire, a few questions about the upcoming fixture and here’s what he said:

What league position would represent a good season for Brentford?

Personally, considering we are bottom three in terms of financial budgets I would take anything but relegation this year. However, most Brentford fans would probably accuse me of having a ‘small club mentality’. Having said that, I am currently sat here after a few xmas sherries and optimistically I would hope for a top 10 finish.

Which Bee’s players should Villa be wary of?

Ollie Watkins, Ryan Woods and Canos. All three are terrific. Alan Judge is on the way back from a horrendous injury but would have been another danger man if he was ready in time (maybe).

Do Brentford need to strengthen in January? If so where?

I would say our defence is shaky. But aside from that I wouldn’t say there is any area we are desperate in. We already have Marcondes coming in from Denmark on a free transfer but unfortunately the top goal scorer from the Danish top league won’t be available for selection due to contractual reasons.

If you could, which past Brentford player would you bring into the starting XI?

In recent times, Alex Pritchard (now at Norwich), Jota (Birmingham), Adam Forshaw (Middlesbrough). But if more from the past 20 years I would love to have Hermann Hreiðarsson to add a bit of quality and steel to our back four. He was a tank of an Icelander.

If you were Dean Smith and had to sign one Aston Villa player for the Bee’s, who would it be?

I’ve always liked Jack Grealish. But I understand there have been some issues during his development. I wouldn’t have Hogan back- good player but you paid massively over the odds for him and he is an injury liability too.

Who do you think will be promoted?

Wolves and someone else.

Score prediction for Tuesday?

Tough to call. I think both teams will score and it will be tight. 1-1, 2-1, 2-2 but can’t decide which way it will go…score draw
