It has been confirmed that 30 year old striker Lewis Grabban has joined Aston Villa for the remainder of the season on loan from Bournemouth.
Grabban was rumoured to go to a number of clubs on a permanent deal, but the Cherries could not find a club to match their valuation of him.
Grabban has the ability to make a something out of a nothing. His 13 goals in 19 appearances while on loan to Sunderland speaks for itself.
It seems as though Grabban is the kind of player who does not worry about style points when in a dangerous area. While also an astute penalty taker, the real damage Grabban can cause comes at the expense of defences looking confused on the counter and when giving up second chances on set pieces.
This acquisition by Aston Villa confirms the thought process that Steve Bruce has his targets on an automatic promotion place before landing in playoff contention.
Grabban will undoubtedly add depth to a position where Villa have been skint all season though injuries or bad form.
