Villa are guaranteed tougher tests this season

Without question this was Villa’s easiest win so far this season. Looking like a team of individuals, the home side just rolled over. Never has the cliche “it looked like a training match” looked so applicable.

Connor Hourihane’s performances continue to go under the radar

While the likes of Jack Grealish and Albert Adomah have been getting the plaudits this season, the unsung hero award could go to a number of players. However, Hourihane, who scored the third, gets my vote, the Irishman has not only got goals this season but has won tackles and shown great tenacity in a role more defensive than he’s used to.

Villa always score

Villa have failed to score in a game only once in their last 13 games. With Jack Grealish returning to the side, it’s hard to see another no show in front of goal anytime soon.

Should Lewis Grabban be signed permanently?

The Bournemouth loanee got his third goal for Villa in typically clinical fashion, taking advantage of Adomah’s poorly defended cross to head in. Grabban contributes much more than goals too, he tracks back and links up play too. With fifteen Championship strikes already this season, the striker could easily make the big 20. However, the bigger question is will Bruce make the deal permanent? It’s unlikely but certainly not something I’d be averse to.

Should we expect a win against Wolves next week?

Wolves have been the Championships best side by far this season. However, they’ve taken their eye off the ball lately, and are without a win in three. Villa welcome the league leaders on Saturday and there’s arguably no better time to face them.
