Last weeks win over Reading seems like a lifetime ago, and with Villa fans losing patience with Bruce’s tactics.
Despite all the doom and gloom, it’s still a possibility that we could finish in an automatic place. Defending that 2nd spot are tonight’s visitors Cardiff City. I spoke to Bluebirds fan Daniel Bevan (@DanBevJourno).
How would you rate your season so far out of ten?
2nd in the table with six games left to go on the sixth lowest budget in the league – I couldn’t give anything other than a 10.
If Cardiff do go up, will the squad need drastic changes?
A goalkeeper to challenge Etheridge for the number 1 shirt would top of my shopping list but I don’t think there’s much that needs to be done to the defence or midfield. Up front Zohore and Hoilett have enough to cut it in the Premier League, but there would need to be a lot of improvements in terms of squad players and competition.
Which Cardiff players should Villa be wary of?
The afore mentioned Hoilett and Zohore are Cardiff’s to biggest goal threat along with Callum Paterson (if he’s available).
If you could, which past City player would you bring into the starting XI?
Perhaps I’m thinking too much into this question, but in terms of who would best fit into this Cardiff squad and be the kind of player Neil Warnock would like to have around, then my pick would be John Charles.
If you were Neil Warnock and had to sign one Aston Villa player for Cardiff, who would it be?
Again, if I’m looking at Cardiff style of player it would have to be Jonathan Kodjia, him and Zohore up front together would be a force.
If you were stuck on a desert island with one other Cardiff player, who would it be?
Without hesitation, Sol Bamba.
Score prediction for Tuesday?
I’m going to go for an optimistic 2-2 draw.
