Aston Villa have unveiled their new home and away shirts for the 2018-19 season.
The home shirt is a throwback to the one Villa wore from 1983-1985, featuring claret stripes and pinstripes on the collar and sleeves. On the club website, kit designer Luke Roper said; “We wanted to take back control of the look and feel of the strip for our fans.”
Two little details to the home shirt which people may have missed is the motif of William McGregor, one of the directors in Villa’s inaugural years and one of the founders of the football league. The second detail is the “Part of the Pride” written inside the collar.
As for the away shirt, Villa will be going back to white, the traditional colour for Villa away strips. The shirt also includes claret rims on the sleeves and collar and bears resemblance to the famous 1982 European Cup winning strip.
Both home and away kits are priced at £50 (Originally touted as being £55 but confirmed as an error by the club).
