Aston Villa have been linked with a host of names throughout the window, and have also been linked with a wide range of loan options – which are available to join the club until the end of the month.

Today is deadline day, and the majority of fans thought the day may be quiet as the club confirmed the signing of Scottish starlet John McGinn from Hibernian last night live on YouTube.

The latest links to come out are for Chelsea left-back Jay Dasilva – who has been linked with a move to Bristol City who will be losing their left-back Joe Bryan to Fulham after their cup hero had initially had a medical with Aston Villa.

Dasilva, who has represented England at every youth level ranging from U16 to U20, has been out on loan from Chelsea for the last two seasons, playing a number of games for Charlton in League One.

The 20-year-old, who could play for the English, Welsh or Brazilian national teams would likely join on loan rather than a full deal, but will be Aston Villa moving quickly to fix a positional issue after the Bryan deal fell through.

At only 5 ft 7, Da Silva is more of an attacking option at left-back and is likely to create competition for the position between himself, Neil Taylor and make-shift option Alan Hutton should he join.

The other rumour has come from the Daily Mail’s Deadline Day Coverage – in the form of Dijon striker Julio Tavares.

The 29-year-old Cape Verde international scored twelve goals for Dijon in Ligue 1 last season, but has scored 97 goals across 274 appearances in his nine-year senior career.

At 6ft 2, the forward could be the target man that fans have been calling for in recent days, and would provide competition for Jonathan Kodjia and the currently injured Scott Hogan – making him this seasons Lewis Grabban.

Rumours are that Aston Villa are assessing their options and considering tabling a £2.5m bid.
