Aston Villa look to have sealed their first deal of Deadline Day by completing the loan signing of Bournemouth’s Tyrone Mings.

The defender, who has played at left-back for the majority of his career but can play at left centre-back too, joins on a half season loan.

The news surrounding the club is that Mings spent the majority of yesterday at Bodymoor Heath despite reports that Nottingham Forest were attempting to scupper the deal.

Tyrone Mings, who was touted as a rising star in English football during his time at Ipswich made the move to Bournemouth just a few seasons ago, but has struggled with fitness since moving down south.

The deal is rumoured to include a £1,000,000 loan fee and the club will be paying all of the defender’s wages. It is thought that the loan fee could play a part in an option-to-buy or agreement-to-buy deal.

The announcement could come at any time today, but unless the player makes a drastic u-turn before signing, we’ll be improving our depth in defence today.
