The latest rumour surrounding Aston Villa is that Brentford centre-back Ezri Konsa may be the next player through the doors at Villa Park.

Considered one of Brentford’s prized assets, the 21-year-old England youth international has been a senior at the club for just a singular season and amassed over 40 appearances for the Bees last term.

With Brentford signing Leeds United’s Pontus Jansson, this paves the way for Konsa to leave – with a number of sources this afternoon stating that Aston Villa have held extensive talks in regards to the centre-back.

The youngster, who turns twenty-two in October, averaged around 1.2 tackles and 3.6 clearances per game in the Sky Bet Championship last season, whilst maintaining a 87% pass success percentage – meaning the defender boasted similar stats to those of Axel Tuanzebe.

It is thought Ezri Konsa may be available for just north of £10,000,000.
