Jack Grealish has today signed a shock new five-year deal at Aston Villa, keeping him at the club until 2025, in what many are calling the best deal of the window.
The Aston Villa captain, who has had interest from the likes of Manchester United this summer, has put pen to paper and committed his future to his boyhood club – keeping him at the club contractually until the age of 30.
Jack has been at the club since he was eight and made his Aston villa debut at the end of the 13/14 season, remained when the side were relegated, spearheaded their promotion charge and was pivotal in keeping the side in the Premier League despite a roller-coaster season.
Christian Purslow was evidently excited to keep him at the club:
“Jack is an emblem of our owner’s vision for Aston Villa, he joined our club as a local boy and has developed into one of the country’s finest players – finally becoming a full England international within the last week.
We are determined to build a top team around him and are delighted that he is extending his contract and committing himself to the club he loves.”

The Jack hear-no-evil celebration at West Ham as last season concluded takes on even more meaning as he extends his stay in B6, signifying that the Aston Villa talisman is not, or was not, listening to anything about his future about his boyhood club.
The five-year deal has significant meaning too, as we discussed the dawn of a new five-year plan under Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, with Ollie Watkins and Matty Cash both signing at the club and penning five-year deals.
It also harks back to a piece about Wes Eden’s stewardship of the Milwaukee Bucks, where we compared the ‘cover star’ treatment of Giannis ‘The Greek Freak’ Antentetokounmpo to how Aston Villa will treat their talisman Jack Grealish.
Jack has said that he is ‘delighted’ to make this commitment to the club.
“It is my club, my home and I am very happy here.
“The owners have made it very clear to me how ambitious they are and how they want to build Aston Villa.
“There are exciting times ahead and I am very glad to be a part of it.”
